Optimal You Quest :
Be Sovereign Over Your Health and Well-Being
Do you ever wonder what all this is about? This life, this journey, the hardships, the joys, the beauty, and the struggles? I won’t attempt to answer that here, and I will say that it’s my sincere desire to live well and to flourish, and in so doing, to help or support others in the same. I do think that we each are here to learn and transform and continually evolve. I think we each have many gifts to share. As we are benefitted ourselves by these gifts, we then in turn avail them to others. What a beautiful kaleidoscope we are as a species. So diverse yet so connected, utterly entwined.
My involvement in Optimal You actually began a long time ago, though I didn’t realize it. My dear friend Sarah Grieb created this incredibly transformative Quest in response to her own life journey and what she was learning about optimal health, sacred community and committed action. Now, after taking 500+ people through the quest, the opportunity has opened for me to join her as a Quest Guide and Facilitator. My point in sharing this is that life has a way of moving the pieces around and putting us just where we need to be. Because she and I have been in transformative relating with one another, the seedbed for our working together was formed many years ago.
This is important to my invitation for you to join me in the Optimal You Quest (OYQ).
Life is our Master Teacher…call it God, Spirit, Universe, All That Is. It is rich and ripe with impulses and leadings, synchronicities, nudges, inspiration, and ah ha’s. Oh how I am still learning to trust the brilliance of it all. And I do know that this course, this opportunity, if whole heartedly engaged, will quite possibly bring transformation to every area of your life. Your health, your wealth, your relationships, your family dynamics, your thinking and feeling, your choices, etc.
The Spirit in this course is like water…winding through all the nooks and crannies until it’s met each space with its nourishment and its truth. And as we know, truth sometimes is sharp and precise. It leaves no stone unturned and when invited, it makes things new and moves out the old. This journey is masterfully designed to facilitate the deepest transformation with compassion and presence. And when approached with willingness and applied with gusto, you simply will not remain the same.
OPTIMAL YOU QUEST
A six-month health and life quest to go deeper, create lasting change, and flourish.
What if we gave ourselves six months to really look at our lives?
Not because something is necessarily wrong, but because there may be so much more available to us when we become willing to look beneath the surface of how we are living. Our health, our habits, our relationships, our thinking, our choices, our patterns, our purpose, and even those things we have carried for years without ever really questioning them.
Most of us know a lot about what it takes to live well. We know we need to move our bodies, eat nourishing food, sleep well, manage stress, take care of ourselves and make good choices. We can collect information forever. But knowing something and actually living it are two very different things.
So the questions become: What gets in the way? What do I really want? And how willing am I to go after it?
What keeps us repeating the same patterns? What beliefs are underneath some of our choices? Where have we stopped listening to ourselves? What are we tolerating? What have we convinced ourselves is simply “the way I am”? And what might become possible if we were willing to get really curious about all of it?
That is the spirit of the Optimal You Quest.
This is a health-centered journey, but it isn't just a diet or exercise program, and it isn't about trying to create some perfected version of yourself. It is about looking at the whole picture and beginning to understand how all of these pieces fit together. Our physical health is connected to our emotional life, our relationships, our environment, our thinking, our beliefs and the choices we make every day. It is all connected.
And this kind of change takes time.
A weekend can inspire transformation. Six months gives you time to actually live it.
TRIBE, PURPOSE, HONOR, TRIUMPH
These four words are woven throughout the Quest because they speak to something deeper than simply setting goals and checking them off a list.
Tribe gives us people to walk alongside us. There is something different about being part of a small group where people know what you are working on, know the promises you've made, and are willing to encourage you, challenge you, listen to you and celebrate with you. We aren't meant to do all of this alone. We walk compassionately together.
Purpose asks us to look at what really matters. How are we spending our time and energy? What are we building? What do we want our lives to be about? Sometimes we don't need another goal as much as we need to remember why we are doing any of it in the first place.
Honor is about our word. The promises we make to ourselves and to one another matter. When we begin to keep those promises, something changes. We begin to trust ourselves. We learn that our word has weight, and that we can count on ourselves even when doing what we said we would do isn't particularly convenient or easy.
And triumph isn't about perfection. There will be days when we get it right and days when we don't. There will be times we lose our way, discover something uncomfortable, or simply don't do what we said we would do. Triumph is in what happens next. We look at it, learn from it, recommit and keep going.
INQUIRY
One of the things I love about the Quest is that we aren't simply handed a list of things we should be doing. Lists and ideas and pointers and direction are all provided, yes, but there is much more substance available in the questions and contemplations.
We inquire and we get curious, because sometimes the more important question isn't “What should I do?” but “What's really going on here?”
We begin looking at the patterns and obstacles that have perhaps been running the show without us realizing it. We ask questions we may not have asked before. We become willing to see ourselves more honestly, without needing to make ourselves wrong for what we find.
FOUR QUARTERS. ONE QUEST.
The six months are divided into four quarters, each with its own Mission and Adventure. Each one takes us somewhere a little deeper while building on what came before.
You'll have your Quest Guidebook, weekly gatherings with your tribe, and daily commitments that keep you engaged between those gatherings. The intention isn't to spend six months talking about change. It is to learn something, inquire into it, practice something different, and eventually begin to inhabit it.
Because the real Quest isn't only happening during our weekly meeting.
It's happening Tuesday morning when you're faced with a familiar choice.
It's happening when an old pattern shows up and you recognize it.
It's happening when you remember the promise you made.
It's happening when you don't keep that promise and decide to understand why instead of simply giving up.
It's happening in your actual life.
SIX MONTHS
There is a reason this is six months.
We’ve all had those moments when we get inspired and decide that something is going to change. We make the commitment, buy the book, start the program, clean out the refrigerator, make the list, and genuinely believe, this time I’m really going to do it.
And then life happens.
Six months gives us the opportunity to meet life as it actually is. To practice new ways of being, to fall off and get back on, to discover what is underneath our habits, to make promises and learn to keep them, and to experience what happens when we stay with something long enough for it to become part of us.
There will be learning, questions, new practices, breakthroughs and, of course, some setbacks. That's part of the process. We aren't trying to become people who never get off track. We're learning to notice what happens, get curious about it, and choose again.
And you won't be doing this alone. You'll have a small group of people walking alongside you, people who know what you're working toward and the promises you've made.
The goal isn't to reach the end of six months having everything figured out. It's to know yourself more deeply, become clearer about what matters, and take greater ownership of your health and your choices. To feel better in your body, have more energy, sleep better, move with greater ease, and develop habits that actually support the life you want to live.
And perhaps, somewhere along the way, what you're learning begins to become simply the way you live.
